Thrust ball bearing is a kind of separation type bearings, shaft circle, seat ring may and maintain shelf, steel ball component separated. Shaft with circle is Axis collar, seat combined with circle is combined bearing hole between the collar, and axis; a gap.

Double direction thrust ball bearings: have two cages with balls between the central shaft washer and two houding washers with flat seating surfaces. The shaft washer has raceways on both sides and is fixed on the journal. Bearings are able to carry only axial forces in both directions.

Double direction thrust ball bearings can accommodate axial loads acting in both directions and can thus serve to axially locate a shaft in both directions. They must not be subjected to radial load.
